PPC aluminium products are known for their functionality and are available in a variety of RAL or BS colours. "PPC" stands for Polyester Powder Coating, a coloring process used in architectural fabrication to achieve bold and bright finishes, including a full range of metallic colors.
Polyester powder coatings are dry coatings that can replace traditional liquid coatings. It is applied electrostatically to building fabrications, which are then heated to form a protective "skin". By using this electrostatic powder process, we ensure that any size and shape can be manufactured with a uniform finish.
Aluminum is a metal that is usually powder coated to give it a durable finish and decorative appearance. Powder coating is a three-step process including preparation, application and handling.
Because it is designed for exterior use, polyester powder coatings leave a harder surface than regular coatings. Strong corrosion-resistant properties make it extremely durable and long-lasting.
By choosing PPC aluminum, you can ensure an excellent finish. Polyester powder coatings are designed to eliminate any imperfections, such as dripping, which are common in painted finishes. It also achieves excellent color retention in outdoor exposures where improved weatherability is required.
If you want to make your project as environmentally friendly as possible, PPC aluminum is an excellent choice. It is considered to be more energy and material saving than other coloring techniques.
Our powder coatings are used for architectural components such as:

Gloss
Matte (30% +⁄-5%):
Matte finishes are great for hiding surface imperfections due to their low gloss. Surfaces are harder to clean than surfaces with higher gloss due to the textured finish. Unless otherwise stated, this is the standard finish offered.
Satin (70% +⁄-5%):
Satin finishes are not as reflective as glossy finishes, so are less likely to show any surface imperfections. The satin finish also provides a good surface for cleaning and abrasion resistance.
Gloss (85% +⁄-5%):
Highly reflective smooth surface. Glossy surfaces tend to highlight surface defects due to their highly reflective appearance.
We advise clients to opt for a matte finish as the gloss will darken over time.
What is powder coating?
Polyester powder coating is a coating that is sprayed with a spray gun as a free-flowing dry powder that is electrostatically charged and applied to the material. The process involves coating the metal in powder form and baking it into a fluid state to bond it to the surface of the product, creating a protective layer. The combination of products used in the process provides the same desired look as a paint finish, and the chemicals used produce a very high-quality finish. Before painting, parts need to be pretreated to prepare the surface to ensure polyester powder coatings provide the highest quality results.
Why choose powder coating?
Compared to traditional coating methods, polyester powder coatings are a long-term, durable solution. The free-flowing powder makes the surface wear-resistant and therefore more resistant to inclement weather, chips and fading. A high-quality finish is obtained when polyester powder-coated aluminum or steel provides a protective layer against corrosion, and with proper maintenance, the coating will last a considerable amount of time.
For many customers, the convenience of polyester powder coating colors is one of the main reasons why they choose this method. It's a cost-effective way to get the exact colors and finishes you need, which can't always be achieved with paint.
